About TJ Kim

TJ Kim is an advocate and health professional. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in history from UCLA and earned her master’s and doctorate degrees in acupuncture and oriental medicine. Having cared for a family member with age-associated illness throughout college, she was inspired to specialize in geriatric rehabilitation and has since focused on improving the quality of life of older adults in her practice as a licensed acupuncturist. She also served as a faculty member at South Baylo University, where she taught courses on the principles of acupuncture and its history as a traditional medical practice in East Asia.

 

Kim is passionate about addressing health inequities that disproportionately affect marginalized communities. She has provided pro bono services to low-income patients and previously advocated for underserved and disabled veterans at a legal services organization.

 

As Director of Career and Professional Development, Kim aims to facilitate an uplifting space for womxn of color, where they can discover opportunities for growth in their professional lives.
